Acoustical Consultants has developed noise control methodologies
for many road systems and highway interchanges in Alberta,
Canada.
Typical projects involve ascertaining the impact of major
interchange development projects on the neighbouring
communities, where required mitigation can be provided using noise walls or some minor re-alignment or grading of the route. Often different noise wall layout proposals need to be evaluated
for not only the acoustic impact but visual, access, etc. Where
major new road schemes are proposed, the impact on the neighbouring communities can be assessed using computer modeling
techniques. HFP utilizes software tools from CadnaA, SoundPLAN and
CNA to assist in their predictions.
